Food Allergy Mamas should have a signal or handshake when we meet up in public. Like a ‘I know you’re just as prepared as me, thanks for keeping the nuts far, far away, glad you have an extra epi just in case’ hand gesture.
Jokes aside, food allergies are terrifying. Your kiddo may not be allergic to the same things as my kid (peanuts, sesame seeds and tree nuts, incidentally), but I’ll share with you how we Stay Prepared and Cook With Allergies and how I have Set my Kiddo Up For Success even when he’s not with me. Of course, we’ll talk Halloween Tips and how it really is the scariest holiday of them all. Because we need to not just help our kid survive food allergies. We need to teach them how to thrive in spite of them.
And always carry both of their epinephrine injectors.
