One of my most favorite memories with the family I grew up in was when we traveled. And we were super lucky that my parents loved to travel, prioritized it, saved for it, and took us on incredible trips around the country.

We went to Washington DC, Disney World, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and Hawaii.

And now that I have my kids, my husband and I also love to travel with them.

We love showing them different landscapes, and different states, and eating different types of foods. We’ve driven across the country a couple of times and love exploring new states and finding unique destinations and activities: caves, waterfalls, covered bridges, lighthouses, lakes, State Parks, National Parks, Presidential libraries, and living museums.

And one of the side benefits of traveling with our kids is how it connects us and helps build our strong family identity.

We’re creating core memories, and experiences they’ll take with them when they start families of their own.

And hopefully, we’ll give them the travel bug so they’ll continue to travel when they’re adults and have kids of their own.
