Inside: Cheer up others and cheer on others with these Lift Up Others Kindness Balloons Printable you can hand out to people who need it.
The other day was a crummy day.
I couldn’t pinpoint the why and I couldn’t get out of my slump at all.
So I had little patience, little joy and little energy to finish the day.
Until my friend texted me.
She sent me a quick meme and then a quick note that brightened my spirits. And then she sent me an invite to spend time with her that evening.
The power of one person’s words to tear us down-or in this case-lift us up is incredible.
So when we see someone in need of kind words or cheering up, it’s within each of us to make that happen.
And to do it more intentionally, we can use printable notecards like these Lift Up Others Kindness Balloons.
How to Cheer Up and Cheer On Others as a Way to Show Kindness
Some days are terrible, no good very bad days and on those days we can help lift up the people around us.
We don’t need toxic positivity at all and we don’t need to tell people “It’s Okay.”

But we can lift them up. We can cheer them on and we can cheer them up.
We can also celebrate when people do something hard or show grit and perseverance.
We can intentionally show kindness by making sure other people feel seen and heard and understood and validated and loved for who they are.
To do that, we can give them Compliment Suns.
Or we can give them one of these Compliment Cards.
Educators can use these notecards to connect with their students who need a little attention, support, or encouragement.
Parents can connect with their kids with these Love Language Coupon Cards.
And we can use these Lift Up Others Kindness Balloon Cards.
How to Use the Lift Up Others Kindness Balloon Cards:
1.Print out the Lifted Up Balloon Cards in color or in black and white on cardstock (download below).
2. Cut out the cards so they’re ready to give out when you needed.
2. You can give them to friends, family, neighbors, students, or classmates when:
- they’re having a no good, terrible, very bad day and need a pick me up
- when they did something hard and you want to acknowledge it
- when they accomplished something big/won/worked really hard and you want to celebrate them
Educators: You can have a box in your classroom where students can leave notes for each other and you deliver them once a week. Since they’re positive notes, you can read them out loud to your class to give even more recognition to the student receiving the note (and the student who took the time to write the encouraging note!)
2. Or you can print out the larger sheet and write a longer note on it to lift someone up.
You can sign your name to it or leave it without a name so it’s more of a random act of kindness.
